Jerald Jerry Hicks

Mr. Hicks was born on March 11, 1939 in Waldo, Florida, the son of Vernon Scott and Zoveta Waters Hicks. He was united in marriage to Hilma Tanner for 50 years. He served in the U.S. Army during peacetime. He was a manager for Albertsons for thirteen years prior to his retirement. He was a member of St. Andrew's Church in Sanford. He loved his family and was an avid Florida Gators fan.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Hilma; three daughters, Desiree (Andy) Kottenstette of North Carolina, Stacy Hicks of Jacksonville, FL and Catherine (Jeff) Gidcumb of Fleming Island, FL; five grandchildren, Amanda, Alex, Andrew, Anabel and Jack; a brother, Earl (Mary) Hicks and a sister-in-law, Mary Alice Hicks; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Thursday, August 11th from 5 - 8 pm at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd., Orange City, FL, PH: 386-775-4260. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 12th at 12:00 pm at St. Andrew's Church, 5525, Wayside Drive, Sanford, FL. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 13th at 11:00 am at Kingsley Lake Baptist Church in Starke, Florida.
