David took night classes in Chicago and earned his high school diploma and also graduated from barber school in Chicago in the sixties. He was married to Crucita Lopez for 13 years.
David had many jobs in Chicago, but was self-employed when he moved to Florida. He was engaged in various activities and had a passion for ballroom dancing and was a member of the ballroom dance club in Deland, he loved cars and playing the guitar.
David is survived by his three daughters; Ivette Santiago, Gladys Santiago Ramos and Betsy Santiago Turk. Eleven grandchildren; Betzaida, Luis Geraldo, Jacinto, Ernesto, Jose Antonio, Gualberto, Caleb, Hailey, KiraJoy, Scotty and Evan. Five great grandchildren; Janeishla, Daryl, Nurielyz, Ana Maria and Jayden. And his siblings; Emily, Ramon, Hector and Mercy.
A funeral service for Jose will be held Sunday, February 5, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763.
A committal service will occur Sunday, February 5, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Deltona Memorial Gardens, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763.
A reception will occur Sunday, February 5, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763.
