July 20, 1938 – February 19, 2025
Juanita Jones, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully of natural causes on February 19, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving a void in the hearts of those who loved her.
Born in Cordell, GA, in 1938 to Reverend Lige Powell and Assie Lee Powell, Juanita was a woman of grace, faith, and warmth. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially shopping for elegant suits and dresses. Her husband, Leo Jones, would lovingly tease her as they entered a department store, saying, “Miss Touchy Feely, gotta touch and feel everything in the store.”
Juanita’s greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her devoted sister, Mae Emma Brown, devoted children: Sundra, Renee, Micah, Kirk, Karl, Leo II, and Terry. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cherished loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Leo Jones, her sister Ruby D, and her brothers Arthur L. Powell and Jerome D. Powell.
Juanita’s unwavering love, kindness, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will forever be felt in the laughter of family gatherings, the warmth of a loving embrace, and the memories she left behind
A visitation for Juanita will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763, followed by a funeral service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
