

Joan immigrated to Washington D.C. in July of 1956 to live with her cousin Julia McKenley. She worked at American Auto Association (AAA) for 40 years where she met her late husband, Jack. They were married for 52 years.
Joan was active in her church, Our Lady of the Lakes, where she was a lifetime member of the Council of Catholic Women, Respite Program, Respect Life Ministry, and the Ministry of the Sick.
Joan is survived by her brother, Matthew Burke and his wife, Mary; sister, Margaret Cummins and her husband, Padraic; sister, Birdie O’Halloran; sisters-in-law, Margaret Burke, Maryan Burke, and Janice Williams and her husband Joe; nieces, Loraine Folks and husband Billy; Loretta Richardson and husband Marvin; nephew, Brian Eslin and his wife Jennifer.
Joan is preceded in death by her brothers, John Burke, Patrick Burke Jr.; brothers-in-law, Paddy O’Halloran, and Richard Eslin.
Joan thanks her cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors for all their help and support during her illness. She especially wanted to thank Kathy Kozak, the Ludden Family, Larry and his late wife, Molly, their children, Brian, Brendon, Eileen and late brother Kevin.
A funeral mass for Joan will be held Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, 1310 Maximilian St, Deltona, FL 32725.
