Manuel Madeira

Manuel is survived by his wife of 12 years, Virginia Cavaco; his children Victor and Laura Madeira, Beta and David Bogaert, Fernando and Clare Madeira, Luis and Joanne Madeira, Francisco and Kathy Madeira; 16 beautiful grandchildren, a great granddaughter and many loving nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Linda, the mother of his children, his sister Albertina Garcia, and his brother Antonio Madeira.

Manuel was born in Portugal on August 27, 1934. He came to America for a better life for his growing family. He worked as a hospital handyman, owned a diner in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and was a union carpenter until he retired and moved to Deltona, Florida. There he enjoyed the warm weather and his garden. Although a Floridian, he never missed watching his favorite NY Mets. He and Linda loved to visit Atlantic City during his travels back up north and to see his children and grandchildren. He was blessed with a loving family.

His later years brought the kindness of Virginia into his life. They enjoyed friends and growing old together in Kings Ridge.

A viewing and funeral mass will be held at St Ann’s Catholic Church in Debary, Florida on Friday, February 18 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.
