From her Mother-In-Law, Monica Barrett:
"Long before Marie became my daughter-in-law, we had developed a daughter/mom relationship. I miss our late night calls and texts, her Facebook comments and her wrinkled nose when she didn't like something. At Christmas, we would bake something she or I had not made before: a Gingerbread house, Cannoli, and homemade marshmallows were just a few of our experiments. I loved when she would fix her spaghetti for us - it was wonderful. Most of all, I miss her kind and giving heart. She was fiercely devoted to the ones she loved.
In Heaven, there is no such thing as time. Her loved ones who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ will be reunited with her before she can even miss us.
Love you so much, Marie".
From her Best Friend, Tara Mailloux:
"To know Marie was to love her. As hard of a rock as she was, Marie was one of the most gentle, beautiful, amazing people to ever grace this world. Not a day goes by that she will not be thought of, laughed with, or cried for. For so many, losing Marie is something that will leave a part of our hearts broken, though the privilege of having been able to know and love her brings some peace to us.
For the last ten years, Marie has helped to shape and mold my girls and me into the amazing people we are today - for that, I am eternally grateful. There are so many days that will be hard, but those days are the days that we know she will be with us the most.
To say that Marie lived a short life (although, literally she was short), is wrong. She lived a full life. A life of love, smiles, laughter, and tears. A life with the man of her dreams, with whom she created their amazing little boy, Colton.
Colton will not know who this beautiful woman was physically, but with all of the love around him, he will be able to know who she truly was.

There is not one party, tear-filled day, laughter-filled day, or just because it was Tuesday, that I can remember Marie not being there. Her life will continue to be celebrated and she will always be remembered.
Marie had a tattoo in honor of a friend that said, "you are not alone"; to this day, it still rings true. Marie will always be by our sides, guiding us all through life with her love and continued support. As hard as this is to write, living without her is the hardest part, but Marie would want all of us to smile and continue to grow into the beautiful people she knew and loved; "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened".
Marie was more than a best friend to me - she was a counterpart that I never knew I needed. She may have been married to James, but she will always be my wifey. She will always be the second mom my kids needed, and she will never be replaced in these roles in our lives.
"We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will"; Marie did just that. She created love, beauty, and true genuine laughter. She created Colton Anthony and he will forever be stronger than anyone we meet because he is hers. Marie will live on in all of our hearts and memories, and forever within Colton Anthony".
Marie Rose Barrett lived life to the fullest. She was immediately loved by anyone who met her. Her warm personality and hilarious sense of humor made it impossible to dislike her, and her sass and stubbornness made her fun to watch and be around. She was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, aunt, hairstylist, confidant, and countless other important roles to the people who loved her. If you knew her for any length of time or had the privilege of watching her around children, you knew the deepest desire of her heart was to become a mother. Her last waking day on earth was spent in the company of the love of her life, James, and their beautiful baby boy, Colton.
To leave something on a high note is defined as, "to finish, complete, or leave at a successful, impressive, or climactic point". Our beloved Marie left this life on her highest note.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 2:00PM at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Boulevard, Orange City, Florida 32763.
