

Orange City, FL, died on March 2, 2014 at Florida Hospital in DeLand, FL at age 62. Nancy was born on March 7, 1951 in Mobridge, SD to the late Sherman and Helen Brown.
Nancy married Richard (Rick) Johnson in 1973 in South Dakota, who survives her. She also leaves her son, Ricky of Deltona, FL; son, Ken, daughter-in-law, Elizabeth and grandchildren, Caroline, Kate and Will of Brentwood, TN; son, Tony and daughter-in-law, Kristi of Orlando, FL; son, Dan and daughter-in-law, Ashley of Crawfordville, FL; son, Kevin of Orange City, FL; brother, Terry and sister-in-law, Mary Ellen of Santa Rosa, CA; brother, Tim of Phoenix, AZ; and brother, Steve and sister-in-law, Katie of Phoenix, AZ.
Nancy graduated from Black Hills State University in 1973 with a degree in Education. After leaving work full-time to raise her children, she returned to work at DeLand High School.
The presence of loved ones never failed to light her up from the inside, and in their marriage of 40 years, she and Rick set an example of devotion that has guided two generations. Those who knew Nancy will remember a kind and patient woman who loved children, had a passion for life and enjoyed trying new things. In our hearts, she will always be the best wife, mother and grandmother, who wanted us to be happy and taught us to love one another.
A memorial service for Nancy is planned for 10 am on Saturday, March 8th at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in DeBary, FL. Nancy’s family is grateful to any family or friends who wish to honor her. Flowers can be sent to St. Ann’s and/or donations made in her memory to the Ronald McDonald House at https://donate.rmhc.org/ A reception at the church will immediately follow, with burial at 12:30 pm at Hollywood Cemetery in Orange City, FL.
