Nora "Margery" Wright lived to serve others! She was born on the beautiful Caribbean island of Grenada on May 10, 1946. She was raised in Grenada until her teenage years when she relocated to England with her parents, Dorothy and Eric DeCoteau, and her three brothers.
In 1974, Margery married Ernest Wright in Maryland and had two children, Manda and Michelle. Her family was precious to her and her devotion to them was evident to anyone who crossed their paths. As a wife and mother, she enjoyed spending time with her family and in doing so, created precious memories.
Anyone who knew Margery will attest to her compassionate spirit and innate devotion for caring for others. Her sincere love to assist others guided her towards the field of Nursing - a career that spanned nearly 40 years. After studying in England to become a Registered Nurse and Midwife, she relocated to the United States and completed her Master’s Degree at St. Joseph College in Maine.
Margery lived and worked in many countries due to her husband’s career. During their family relocations, she remained committed to her life’s career. She was employed at Mt. Hope Women’s Hospital in Trinidad, Governor Juan F Luis Hospital (St. Croix, USVI), Florida Hospital (Deland) and Winnie Palmer Hospital (Orlando, Florida) until her retirement in 2013.
During their time in Florida, Ernest fell ill, and Margery cared for him with dedication and love for several years. Since his passing in 2022, she remembered him daily, sometimes with a smile, and sometimes with tears.
On September 18, 2023, Margery experienced sudden illness and transitioned the next day as God called her home to be reunited with the love of her life, Ernest, and other loved ones.
Margery was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest, her step dad, Eric DeCoteau and her uncle, Peter Lalsee, and other relatives who transcended before her. She is survived by her daughters, Manda and Michelle (Ruiz), three granddaughters, her mother, her brothers, David (Brenda), Davis and Derek, her nieces Amy and Kelly, and a host of relatives.
Margery will be remembered for her devotion and love to others. Her legacy as a loving mom, dedicated daughter, doting grandmother, and a faithful Child of God will always be treasured.
