

Pat grew up around Sarasota, graduated from Brandon High School and was a member of Sarasota High School band.
She attended Retail classes at UF and worked in retail sales.
She met the love of her life and married Fred Cheney and they had a long and wonderful life together raising five children and still managed to find time to camp, fish and travel. Later in life they bought a motorhome and traveled the lower 48 states and Alaska. She was a genealogist and traced her family’s lineage back to Europe and became a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Pat is survived by her children David M. Cheney (Margie), Janis W. Tipton (Chris), Jack M. Cheney (Lucy) son-in-law James Viers and daughter-in-law Amy Cheney. She is also survived by her sisters Carolyn Bristow (Ted), Marilyn Sumner (Bobby), seven grandchildren, Jessica Cheney, Christopher D Tipton II (Jennifer), Michael Tipton (Angela), Tiffany Viers Lopez (Chris), David Tommy Viers (Sara), Jacqui Cheney Lofy (Kevin), Patricia Cheney and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Fred, their daughter Evelyn Cheney Viers, her son John Cheney, granddaughters Jeanette and Jennifer Cheney, Melanie Viers, great-granddaughter Lily Viers Prue, her parents David and Eva Morris and her sister Evelyn Nester.
Pat’s celebrating of life will be held at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home & Gardens on July 20, 2024 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, her family is requesting donations be sent to Halifax Health-Hospice, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL. 32129
