
He received a bachelor's degree from ISU in Education but went to work for the Department of Correction in Indiana then retiring after 20 years.
After he moved to Central Florida he went to work for Loomis Fargo for a brief stint then onto work for the Seminole County Juvenile Center. He then followed his true passion and got re-certified in Teaching and then became the AE teacher for Deltona HS for 8 years. After the build of the new High School, "University" in Orange City, Fl., dad became a History Teacher for the next 12 years until his second retirement.
Rodney loved watching the Colts play but hated the direction sports had taken when protest started and knees were being knelt. He was our baseball and football coach when we were playing. He was a devoted family man and always put everyone else first. He married his High School Sweetheart and treated my mother like a queen until his last day. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be missed by all.
Rodney is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, who was his high school sweetheart, Margaret; sons, Jason and Justin Grimes; grandchildren, Connor, Jordan, Ethan, Madison and Kali; siblings, Richard Grimes, Deanna Long and Marybeth Grimes.
