Roger Jones

Roger Jones, 92 years old, resident of Deltona, Florida, previously from Amityville, New York, died December 30, 2010. Mr. Jones was born in Parrott, Georgia on July 3, 1918 to the union of John Jones and Paula King. He was a veteran of World War II. Employed by Northport Veterans Hospital located in Long Island, New York where he retired after 26 years of service as a cook.

Mr. Jones was a deacon at First Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church located in Sanford, FL. His favorite pastime was watching news channels and baseball games. He was an excellent cook.

On October 2, 1968, Roger Jones married Odell Smith Hunter. To cherish his memory Roger leaves his wife of 42 years Odell Jones. Sister Ossie Davis, of Ohio, brother, James King Jones of California, son Roger Jones Jr of Nevada, daughter, Paula Jones Brown (Esmond) of Michigan, step-daughter, Brenda Hunter Grimsley (Wally) of New York, step-sons, Carl Abdul Rahmaan (Rachida) of Maryland and Carnell Hunter (Cynthia) of Maryland.

Fifteen grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, friends and love ones.
