Mr. Harman was born on October 28, 1938 in Herculaneum, MO. the son of Howard Harman and Katherine LeGrande. He was united in marriage to Katherine L. Cooper.
Mr. Harman is survived by two daughters, Tammy L. (Steven) Layton and Julie A. Harman both of Florida; a son, Ronald C. (Catherine) Harman, Jr. of North Carolina; six grandchildren; a sister, Geri Rose Elzie of Texas; and a niece and a nephew.
He attended Tampa’s Thomas Jefferson High School enlisting in the navy soon after graduation. Upon his discharge, he began his career with Morrison’s Cafeteria working in the stock room. He came from humble beginnings to achieve the American dream. With hard work, dedication, and integrity he eventually retired after 30-years at Morrison’s as Culinary Director.
Mr. Harman was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed the camaraderie of attending Florida Gator football games with the “gator crew”, and voyages on cruise liners with his wife Kathy, Jim (brother-in-law), and Sue (sister-in-law).
A celebration of life service for Ronald will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763, followed by a reception from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
