Thelma Mary Sharp Marshall, 96, of Orange City, Florida, passed away on January 2, 2026. Born in Nashua, New Hampshire on August 17, 1929 to Marshall R and Mary (Young) Sharp. Thelma was educated in Nashua Schools and graduated from Nashua High School with the class of 1947. In November 1948, Thelma married her high school sweetheart, James C. Marshall. Together, they raised five children and celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary the year before Jim’s passing in April 2014. Thelma and Jim moved their young family from Nashua to Mount Vernon where they lived for several years. During this time, Thelma wrote a local column for the Nashua Telegraph. She later worked for companies including Doehia Greeting Cards, Data Royal, and PVA in Wilton, NH, retiring as assistant supervisor of data entry. As their children grew and started their own families, Thelma and Jim relocated to Milford where they lived for several years and were members of the Pilgrim Congregational Church in Nashua.
After retirement, Thelma and Jim enjoyed many years as “snowbirds” spending summers at their home in Beach Acres, Wells, Maine, and winters at Kings Lake in Debary, Florida. In 2006 they made Florida their permanent home, embracing the year-round warmth.
Thelma was predeceased by her husband Jim, her children Christopher Scoott and Stephen Mark Marshall, her infant sister Ruth Cathleen, her brothers Royden (and his wife Ruby), and Gerald (and his wife Lila), as well as nephews Gary, Kenneth and Donald Sharp, and nieces Cheryl Beals, Muriel Plummer and Trudy Marshall.
She is survived by her daughter Linda Decoteau and husband Donald of Milford, NH, sons James C. Marshall Jr and wife Linda-Jo of Gilbert, AZ., and David C. Marshall and wife Moira of Stratford, NY. Thelma was beloved Grammy to nine grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, and a great-grandmother to eleven great-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.
