
Edna Virginia Smith “Tunk” Bristow, 94, passed away November 9, 2012. She was born November 17, 1917, the 4th child of William D & Edna L. Smith in Sumter, SC, however grew up in Florence, SC. After living in several towns in the SE, she lived in Jacksonville, FL for 44 years, where she was a member of Cedar Hills Baptist Church, before moving to Smyrna, GA to live with her son for the past 12 years.
She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, John T. “Jack” Bristow, her daughter, Jacquelyn “Jinx” Bristow Ross, and a granddaughter, Amy Bristow. She is survived by her son William M. “Bill” Bristow (wife Elaine) of Smyrna, four grandchildren: Stacey Bristow Rayburn (husband Gary) of Marietta, GA; Teresa Ross Romani (husband Shane) of St Johns, FL; Stephanie Bristow Loehr (husband Todd) of Roswell, GA; Andy Bristow (wife Niki) of Acworth, GA. She also is survived by seven great grandchildren: Christopher and Zachary Romani, Ray Rayburn, Ashley and Thomas Kerwood, Madison‑Grace and Joshua Bristow, and many others who loved and knew her as “Nanny.”
Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Jacksonville Memory Gardens, 111 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL. Family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until 1:30pm at the HARDAGE-GIDDENS RIVERMEAD FUNERAL HOME, 127 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL .
