The family will be holding a private memorial service for Edward on Saturday March 9, 2019. Cremation services are being provided by Hardage-Giddens Rivermead Funeral Home in Orange Park, FL.
Edward "Ed" was born March 30, 1962 to Edward, Sr. and Barrie Maddox in Jacksonville, FL. He graduated from Orange Park High School in 1980. He married Lori Ann on March 4, 2013 in Green Cove Springs, FL. Ed graduated from University of Maryland with a degree in Information Technology. He retired February 1, 2019 from the Department of Defense after a distinguished Civil Service career working at both Robins AFB, GA and Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, GA. Ed retired from the Air Force in June 2004 after proudly serving our country for 22 years and receiving the Meritorious Service Medal. He was deployed to numerous locations around the globe during his career, most notably was his service as member of a ground force radar communication team during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Ed loved spending time with his wife and family, Computers, cars and building things were his passion, He was an avid theme park enthusiast and Orlando, FL was his favorite vacation destination. He will be fondly and lovingly remembered by all his family and friends.
Edward is preceded in death by his father Edward Earl Maddox, Sr., his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Edward is survived by his wife, Lori Ann. Children, Edward E. Maddox, III, Ralph W. Maddox and Betsy (Rogers) Maddox. Step-Children, Michael Williamson and Wesley (Malcom) Williamson, Matthew Williamson and Ashley (Sharp) Williamson, and Kimberly Kolmetz. His sisters Sheri (Maddox) Sanchez and Terri (Maddox) Davis. Edward's mother Barrie (Perdue) Maddox. Grandchildren, Clay Klolmetz, Bella and Aiden Williamson.
