John W. Ross, 78, passed away peacefully at home on March 31, 2021. He was born in Kearney, New Jersey, and attended Barringer High School class of 1961 in Newark, N.J. John proudly served in the United States Navy and was a dedicated associate at JEA. He was a devoted Christian who enjoyed music, dancing, golfing, reading, dining, traveling, and RVing. With a twinkle in his eye and a quick smile, John embraced life to its’ fullest and his charming presence will be deeply missed by all. His parents, who immigrated from Scotland, predeceased him: William Ross and Violet McCreadie Ross and his sister Annie Nigro. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 27 years, Karen King; 2 sons: Steven Ross and Michael Ross; sister, Margaret Miedema; 2 grandchildren: Justin Ross and Aleigha Ross; 2 nieces: Ann Marie (fiancé, Michael Crum) Lucarelle and Linda (Josh) Makowski; nephew, John (Kellie) Nigro; step-son, Joe King and Stephanie Williams; 4 step-granddaughters: Kassidy King, Victoria King, Karen Lynn King and Shyenne Williams; puppy boys: Yoda and Porky; special friends: James and Diane Boatright, Bill and Jeanne Bransford, Ron Combs and Dr. Kathi Aultman, Debbie Corely, Dr. Rick and Elaine Gehret, Sue Green, Barbra and Elmer James, Bob Lacatur, Joe and Gloria Markowski, Jim and Diane McLeod, Dr. Melinda Miller, and a host of extended family and friends. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
