Born on February 13, 1943 in Jacksonville, Florida, Oscar “Miles” Gordon, was born to Oscar and Norma Gordon. He had an older sister Jackie and a younger sister JoAnne. At the age of 12 he went to live with his cousins Betty and Marvin Robinson. Miles became their sixth child with Judy, Buddy, Kathy, Shirley and Jennifer. He loved being a part of a big family.
In 1960 he enlisted in the Marine Corps. He spent the next four years as a helicopter mechanic loving being able to travel all over the world. After his service, he came home to Jacksonville and did some odd jobs until he started with Seaboard Coastline Railroad. He spent 26 years as a Train Engineer and retired.
He had 3 daughters Kim McGrane (Matt), Deborah Knight (Bert) and Lisa Enge (Jason).
He married his love Elaine on February 26, 1994 and enjoyed 31 years of marriage. With Elaine he gained a son Jim Mathis (Shawn) and another daughter Kelly Collins. Between the 5 children they have 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Miles and Elaine loved to fish together and be on the water any chance they had. Miles will be missed by so many.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Hardage-Giddens Rivermead Funeral Home, 127 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL with visitation held 1 hour prior to service. Graveside services with military honors will be held 1 PM, Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218 (LANE 2)

Pallbearers will be Jason Griffin, Matt McGrane, Jason Enge, Taylor Collins, Jim Mathes and Ryan Jones.
