

Richard Alan Dunham, 67, passed away peacefully May 16, 2015. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on September 15, 1947. He grew up on a farm in Monrovia, Indiana, and had very fond memories of life on the farm. He graduated from Monrovia High School in 1965, and was eagerly anticipating attending his 50th reunion in June. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving there in the US Army in 1967. He was awarded the National Defense medal, the Vietnam Service medal, the Vietnam Campaign medal, and the sharpshooter badge. He was a radio operator for an artillery unit in Vietnam. He retired after 39 years with USAir, as a ramp supervisor in customer service. For most of his career with USAir he worked at the Indianapolis airport but transferred to the Jacksonville International Airport in 2000. After retiring from USAir, he was employed with Allied Barton Security of Jacksonville, working as a gate security guard at the Maxwell Coffee plant. He was a member of the Celebration Church, attending the Orange Park campus. Richard is survived by his wife, Dana Dunham, whom he married in December of 2013, and his mother, Betty Dunham. He is predeceased by his father, Tyint Dunham, and his sister, Linda Plunkett. An inurnment service will be held at the Jacksonville National Cemetery (for veterans) on June 3, 2015 at 10:00 A.M.
