Rusty Ray O’Connor, 41, passed away July 23, 2017, in Jacksonville, Florida after a hard-fought battle with cancer. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 11:00am at the Hardage-Giddens Rivermead Funeral Home, 127 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park 32073.
Rusty was born December 08, 1975 in Mayfield, Kentucky and resided in Jacksonville, Florida. Rusty was an avid trucker who was most recently employed by Kelly and Joey Bushart with Bushart Trucking located in Wingo, Kentucky; these two were near and dear to his heart. He loved his niece and nephews more than life itself. Rusty had a huge heart and never met a stranger. He had an infectious laugh, unforgettable smile and fun-loving personality. His passion for art and drawing led him to become an incredible tattoo artist. Rusty was an overly devoted husband, a beloved son, an amazing brother, a proud uncle and loved by so many aunts and uncles, not to mention one of too many cousins to count. He truly enjoyed spending time with all of his family and friends.
Rusty is preceded in death by his mother Judy O’Connor. He is survived by his wife Michelle O’Connor, father Larry O’Connor, sister Christy Jackson (nephew Jacob Jackson and niece Jacey Welch), sister Nicole Sweat. As well as his other nephews Jason Gordon III, Jacob, Kyler and Devon Pagod.
