She was born on June 14, 1949 in Detroit, MI to the late Clarence and Grace Timpf.
After high school, Sarah spent her young adulthood exploring life outside of Detroit, which included an extended stay in Spain. She eventually settled in Florida in the 1970s where she met her husband John. She served faithfully by his side as a dedicated Navy wife for 14 years. She also worked a series of service related jobs, giving her the opportunity to meet people and build relationships.
Anyone who knew Sarah would describe her as loving, generous, and talkative. As the saying goes: she never met a stranger. Wherever she went, she would enjoy a conversation with whoever was near. She had the heart of a servant and would give whatever she had to help someone in need. Sarah enjoyed spending time with her family and cherished every holiday as if it was her favorite. She spent her last years as an active member of VVA Chapter #1059, a devoted caregiver to her husband and super-grandma to her two youngest grandchildren.
Sarah leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 40 years, John Davis, Jr., sons: Robert Hogan Jr. and John (Jami) Davis, III, grandchildren: Khalil, John IV, and Layla, brothers: Edward Timpf, Thomas (Debra) Timpf, and Mitchell (Lauri) Timpf, sisters: Barbara Yates, Margaret (Stanley) Arrighi, Lea Timpf, Rita (James) Sterns, Linda (Charles) Sherman, and Anna (Floyd) Bracy, and faithful dogs Angel and Tee-bone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers: Gregory Timpf and Frederick Timpf.
A celebration of Sarah’s life will be held at 11am on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Hardage-Giddens Rivermead Funeral Home, 127 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL 32073, with visitation beginning at 10am. Interment will follow at the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
