Sherman D. Staples, 85, passed away September 25, 2016.He was born March 14, 1931 in Henderson, Kentucky and resided in Jacksonville, Florida. He is the son of the late Thomas and Harp Staples of Henderson, Ky. He retired from Bell South as a manager in the Comptroller's Department. After serving three years in the US Army, he graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College. His hobbies included gardening, watching sports, working out at the YMCA, and Bible Study Fellowship. He was a charter member of Christ Community Church. Mr. Staples is survived by his wife Carolyn Hughes Staples, and sons Kent (Chrystal) and Kyle, grandsons Josh (Megan), Jericho, Jordan, and Joel, and one great-granddaughter, CeCe Staples. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, September 28, 2016 with1 hour prior visitation at HARDAGE-GIDDENS RIVERMEAD FUNERAL HOME, 127 Blanding Blvd Orange Park, FL.
