In loving memory of William (Bill) Listen Bernardo, who passed away peacefully on March 1st, 2013 from complications of Diabetes. Bill was born in Bridgeport, CT on March 16th, 1934. Bill spent 2 years in college and then joined the Army and was a Veteran of the Korean War.
While attending Airline School in Kansas City, Bill met the love of his life and wife of 56 years, Celeste Gaylor. Employed by Eastern Airlines, the couple moved to Melbourne, Fl. where they had 5 children. They moved to Jacksonville in 1971. After 33 years, Bill retired from Eastern Airlines, and then from SATO in 1992.
Bill is survived by his wife, Celeste, and children William J. (Menoka), Laurie Potts (Larry), Linda White (Johnny), Christopher, and Melissa Jamros as well as 5 grandchildren, Brandon, Joshua, Hayley, Emily, and Lindy Celeste.
