
On September 27th at 9:30 a.m. Sr. Chief, William Samuel Cassidy Jr., USN Retired, passed away peacefully as the last song on his favorite Journey DVD ended. He was holding hands with the love of his life and Wife of nearly 49 years, Sandra Jean Cassidy (Hoynes). The Son of William Samuel Cassidy Sr. and Mary Virginia Cassidy (Gallagher), William was born in Chicago Illinois on the 30th of July 1946. After Graduating from De LaSalle High School, Chicago Ill, in 1965 William joined the United States Navy. That same year on December 23rd, He married his High School Sweetheart, Sandy. William served his Country proudly and honorably for 23 years in the USN. He continued his service at the Naval Aviation Depot at NAS Jacksonville. At 54 years of age William and Sandy retired and spent the next 12 years fishing together, playing golf together, traveling, going to Rock Concerts and spending time with Family and friends.
William is survived by His Loving Wife Sandra, three Sons, William Samuel Cassidy III and his Wife Carla (Newhouse), Mark David Cassidy (Natalina D'Souza), and James Patrick Cassidy (Isela). William had six Grandchildren. Jacob David, (Son of William and Carla), and the Children of James Patrick Cassidy: Ady Cassidy, Bryan Cassidy, Christian Cassidy, Sharon Cassidy, and Matthew Cassidy. And one Great granddaughter, Gizelle. William had some great friends, and one special friend, Chloe, his beautiful Lab, she was always there to comfort him and make him smile. Steve Heffernan (Donna), William's Nephew, always had a special place in His heart and his Home.
