Michael Anthony Minervini, 73, of Orland Park, passed away on July 11, 2021. Beloved husband of Sandra Minervini (nee Gadomski); devoted father of Nicole (Jeff), Michael (Laura), and Ross (ok Ashley); proud and loving Nonno to Luke, Isabella, Lilyth, Logan, Bryce, A.J., Audrey, Ryan and Ava; Brother-in-Law to Ron and Cindy Polickey, Phil and Sue Domagalski; Loving uncle and friend to many.
Michael was born in Chicago and moved to Oak Lawn in his youth. Following enlistment and honorable discharge as an MP from the US Army, he married Sandra and moved to Hometown. After spending 26 years working with the Chicago Transit Authority as an IT systems analyst, he retired from the CTA. He then started his second career as a Statistician and Assistant Coach at Brother Rice High School for nearly three decades.
Michael’s family meant everything to him. He loved attending family parties when his grandchildren, nieces and nephews were enjoying themselves. They all loved Nonno/Uncle Mike. He loved watching them succeed in any capacity, whether in school, sports, or life: No accomplishment was too small for him to celebrate when it came to those people he held dear.
His passions in life outside of family were sports, crossword puzzles, trivia, Cubs baseball, and Br. Rice High School. A human encyclopedia, his cunning wit, devotion to others, and depth of introspection made him a cherished conversationalist and a light to all.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 19, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Orland Funeral Home, located at 9900 W. 143rd St. Orland Park, IL. There will be a service held at the funeral home at 5:00 pm.
