Born on November 5, 1958 in Delaware, Ohio (Go Buckeyes!), Mandi moved to Orlando with her family in 1973. She graduated from Oak Ridge High School, University of Central Florida and Nova Southeastern University, where she received her B.S and M.A. in Learning Disabilities. As an Educational Therapist with Christian Educational Services for 29 years, Mandi loved working with students and seeing the “light turn on” whenever they grasped a new concept. She also loved the Great Smoky Mountains and anything Disney. Her “Reel” sense of humor was evident to the end as was her care for others.
Mandi will be greatly missed by her surviving siblings: Jeff Reel (Tennessee) and Jud Reel (Georgia) as well as her Aunt Maureen Overturf (Orlando) and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews throughout the country. She will also be missed by her best friend of 35 years, Nancy Akins, who was her primary caregiver in hospice.
