Donald Ivor Marshall at the age of 87 years old passed away peacefully in Orlando, Florida on Friday, March 30, 2018 after a long illness. Donald was born in Mandeville, Jamaica on December 26, 1930. He was an ambitious young man who aspired to be an engineer and migrated to Canada in the 1950’s to pursue his dream. He later moved to the United States to further his education and career. As an accomplished civil engineer, he worked on projects in Canada and the United States building sub-structures of bridges, dams and highways. In the 1970’s, Donald was one of the first engineers hired to work on the Orlando International Airport project. He later worked as an independent sub-contractor and then as a civil engineer with the City of Orlando.
Don loved his dog JoJo who was his constant companion for many years. He also loved to watch boxing, enjoyed playing Solitaire and doing crossword puzzles.
Donald is survived by his dedicated wife Pauline Pitter-Marshall, together for over 50 years, his daughters Nicole, Sheree, Janice; his son Bradley; his daughter in law Chandra; and son in law Marcus; his beautiful grandchildren: Alex, Alexa, Gabriella, Xavier, Avery, Layla; and his sister Beryl Spence. Donald was a hard-working man, a good provider and he loved his children, especially his grandchildren.
