

Edna Mae Hadden Lawson, age 98, passed away on September 10, 2016 at Avante Hospice in Orlando, FL as a result of a stroke. She was born January 31, 1918 in Valdosta, Georgia to Joseph M. Anthony and Willie Ada Norris Anthony. She spent a brief time in Seattle, Washington where she completed her studies at Garland High School. She then relocated to Orlando, FL where she met her husband, Leonard Grady Hadden and they had two children, Grady and Dennis. After Leonard’s death in 1966, she married a second time to Dick Lawson, father of four children, Jewel, Sonny, Robert and Maurice. Dick passed within four months of the marriage, and Edna remained a widow up to her death. Her previous employment was in the field of bookkeeping and clerical work with the Days Inn Motel in Orlando, FL. Her hobbies included traveling to other countries, collecting antiques, and reading. She was an avid fan of the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta Braves. She is a current member of the Down Town Baptist Church and a former member of the American Business Association. Edna is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Hadden, her parents, and her son, Grady. She is survived by her son Dennis Hadden, wife Shelley Hadden, grandchildren, Tristan Hadden, Than Hadden, wife Cindy Hadden, all of Atlanta, Georgia, Kerry Callaway, husband Kiley Callaway of Gering, Nebraska, great grandchildren, Kathryn Sills, Kayden Callaway, Keyan Callaway and Chris Colt. A special recognition from Edna’s family to friend and caregiver, Jean Allman.
At Edna’s request, a Graveside Service will be held on September 15th at 3pm at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 2300 Temple Dr., Winter Park, FL, with a representative from Baldwin Fairchild presiding.
