

Edward Clifford Lowe, 92, passed away May 18, 2015 at his home in Orlando, FL. He was born in Cambridge, MA on March 12, 1923. Ed graduated from Natick High School, in Natick, MA in 1940. He worked for the Shawmut Bank in Boston; then the Boston & Albany RR until October 1941 when he enlisted in the U.S. Naval Air Corps. He was discharged in June 1946. Ed received his B.S. Degree in Business Administration on June 7, 1949 from the University of Missouri where he met his wife, Frances Noland Lowe, who survives him. They were married in Independence, MO on June 11, 1949 and would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary June 11th. After their marriage they returned to Framingham, MA where four of their five children were born. Ed worked first for the New York Central Railroad and then for Dennison Manufacturing Company as a cost accountant. The family moved to Huntington, WV, where Ed worked for the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad as a cost accountant, followed by a move to Charleston, WV where their fifth child was born and Ed was employed by the Food Machinery & Chemical Co. as superintendent of cost accounting. The family then moved to Toledo, Ohio where Ed worked with an auto parts company as assistant controller costs and then a move to Ashtabula, Ohio where he worked for the Cabot Corporation titanium dioxide plant as accounting manager. Ed retired in February, 1986 and he and his wife took a four month trip around the world. They moved to Orlando, Florida in October, 1986 where Ed took a part-time job at Sun Bank until he retired for a second time in 1996. In his retirement years, Ed had a passion for gardening and geneaology. He is also survived by his five children: Linette Fern Lowe Chaney (David), Adrienne Lowe Durrett (Robert), Edward Noland Lowe (Christine), Norman Clifford Lowe, and Donald Thomas Lowe (Mona), 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The family will gather in Orlando on June 13th for a Celebration of Life.
