Gregory Evans of Orlando, Florida passed away suddenly on February 21, 2023. He was born in Virginia as the second of three children to Gary and Kathy Evans. He spent most of his childhood in Virginia and, upon graduation from Kempsville High School, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech. He joined Lockheed-Martin in 2001 as a Senior Systems Engineer, rising to Chief Engineer for missile delivery, weapons systems, and other technologies during his more than 21-year career.
He is survived by his wife, Lindsey (Springer) Evans; his daughters, Kylie and Evelyn; his parents; and his two sisters, Kim Shelburne and Jacquelyn Evans.
Greg enjoyed creating and trying craft beers in his spare time ranging from IPAs to stouts. His aptitude with strategy meant that he loved to play (and win) whether it be board games or his fantasy football league. He showed his talent for precision when building various Lego sets ranging from miniscule to a massive project with over 7,000 pieces. He travelled the world taking local culture, cuisine, and opportunities for new experiences. He was a life-long learner seeking knowledge through reading books, watching documentaries and working on his Spanish skills through Duolingo. He played golf whenever he found the opportunity.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Family Funeral Care, Orlando, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to please consider donating to the Florida Prepaid College 529 account (https://www.529egift.org/FL/WD7mvo ) for his youngest daughter’s education.
