

James “Jim/Jimmy” Houston Tyree, 90, off Orlando, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021. He was born October 19, 1930 in Nashville, Tennessee. James is preceded in death by his father, James Herman Tyree, his mother Ophelia Tyree and the love of his life, his wife, Annabel Butler Tyree and infant son James Houston Tyree, Jr.
He is survived by his three daughters, Lisa Tyree Kelly (Patrick), Lynn Tyree Hall (Eric) and Sheri Tyree Fogg (Jon), his grandchildren Heather Kelly, Patrick Kelly, Joel Hall (Anna), Alex Hall, Lindsey Hall, Wesley Fogg, Colin Fogg and his great grandchild James Houston Hall. He is survived by his cousin Phil Sweeney (Susan). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, their children and grandchildren.
James served in the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed in Germany and traveled throughout Europe. He received the National Defense Service medal, Good Conduct medal and the Occupation medal-Germany.
James graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Business Administration. James worked and lived in New York City; Louisville, Kentucky; Jackson, Mississippi; Charlotte, North Carolina and Orlando, Florida. James met his beautiful wife, Annabel, in Nashville, Tennessee. They married January 17, 1959.
James was a talented athlete throughout his entire life; playing basketball, baseball and football. James was an avid golfer. One of the highlights of his life was attending the Masters Golf Tournament. James was gifted with a beautiful singing voice. He participated in his high school choir, church choir and a quartet. His family loved hearing him sing. James and Annabel loved traveling and vacationed throughout the country.
A Funeral Service will be held 10AM Monday, October 18, 2021 at First Presbyterian Church of Orlando, 106 E, Church Street, Orlando, Florida 32801. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Orlando.
