Kenneth Paul Liput, 73, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015. He was born in Washington, DC on November 9, 1941 to Stanley Liput and Dorothy (Johanides) Liput, who have preceded him in death. He was the eldest of two brothers, Richard and Gary Liput. His dad was in the Army and the family lived in many places in Europe and the United States. They moved from Germany to the United States in his older teen years. His family moved to Orlando in 1958, where he graduated from Boone High School in 1959. Dad attended Orlando Junior College. During this time, he met the love of his life, Carolyn Browning. They were introduced by Carolyn's sister, Jerlene. Ken and Carolyn married on September 1, 1961 in Orlando, Florida. Ken attended college at FSU, but his educational pursuits were put on hold to raise a family, but he eventually completed his degree and graduated from Florida Southern College in 1978 with a B.A. degree in psychology. Ken worked at Merita Bakery, Gould Battery, Baldwin Fairchild, and eventually retired from the State of Florida as an investigator for the Department of Children and Families. Ken and Carolyn had three wonderful children, Larry, Kendra and David. He supported his children in all their activities, especially sports. He would volunteer for coaching, president of little leagues, scorekeeper, and cub scouts/boy scouts. In 1968, he became a Christian, and eventually became involved in different ministries of the church. He taught Sunday School to men for over 30 years. He became a deacon in 2007, and served the widow's ministry at FBC/Orlando. His passion for ministry and helping people was significant in his life. Ken had many interests. He enjoyed attending and watching the grandkids at all their sporting events, and this kept him and Carolyn quite busy. He loved to read books in so many genres from science fiction, history, politics, and christianity. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles with Carolyn, date nights at the movies, and watching college and professional sporting events on TV. They recently celebrated 54 years of marraige. Ken was diagnosed with breast cancer, and was undergoing chemotherapy when he became ill with a respiratory/cold virus. Because he was immunosuppressant, his body could not fight the virus and many other complications ensued. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Liput, his two sons, Lawrence Liput and David Liput (Linda), his daughter, Kendra Schanback (Mark), his five grandchildren, Austin Liput, Chase Liput, Deacon Liput, Kayla Schanback and Luke Schanback. He is also survived by his two brothers, Richard Liput (Lynn) and Gary Liput (Wendy) and nephew, Sam Liput. On Saturday, Sept. 26, burial will be at the Drawdy Rouse Cemetery on Rouse Road in Orlando.
