Mabel S. Johnson

JOHNSON, MABEL S. Loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 5, 2013. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years Mr. H.E. “gene” Johnson, her loving parents Robert and Comela Stembridge, and her loving grandson Raymond E. Johnson. Mrs. Johnson was born in Lyons, GA and grew up in Lake Wales, FL. Mrs. Johnson had one son and two grandchildren. She was very active in several church organizations at College Park UMC. She was a talented bowler; golfer and she enjoyed gardening, especially tending to her Rose Garden with over 50 bushes at one time. Mrs. Johnson also adored and loved her many animals she had in her lifetime. She was a 65 year member of the Eastern Star. Viewing will be held on Monday, November 11th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, November 12th at 10:00 am at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home at 2811 Curry Ford Road with Interment immediately following at Dr. Phillips Cemetery. She is survived by her son, Robert E. Johnson and his wife Beryl; sister, Hazel S. Bryan; granddaughter, Cynthia E. Johnson and fiancé’ James C. Jones; many nieces; nephews; great nieces; great nephews; friends and her cat “Sparky”.
