June 5, 1935 - February 1, 2020
On Saturday, February 1, 2020, Mona Barber, loving mother of three children, entered into her eternal rest at the age of 84.
Mona worked for Orange County Public Schools as a bookkeeper for thirty years. She never met a stranger and always had time for everyone.
In her retirement years she loved travelling, gardening, playing Pogo, and occasionally playing the slot machines at casinos.
While Mona will be dearly missed by all who knew her, she would want everyone to know that she was more than prepared to meet her Lord and Savior.
Mona is survived by her sisters, Juanita McGill and Sharon Pearson, her children Kevin (Karen) Luckey, Karen (Jeffrey) Lewis, Teresa (James) Finch, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, step-children, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Barber, her parents, Albert and Mary Lou Sylvia and her brother, Anthony Sylvia.
Memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church Pine Castle, 1001 Hoffner Avenue, Orlando, Florida 32809 on February 21, 2020 at 11:00 am with lunch to follow.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Mona to Alzheimer's Association at act.alz.org/donate.
