Monroe was a science teacher, an Army Veteran, and a musician. He played the drums. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Weiss , and extended families; Edge, Maldonado, Alvarado, Davila, Sierra ,Gimperson, Evans, Carter, Rochell, De Marco, Chen, De Francesco, Fitzgibbon, Gawne, Roth, De Cicco, Harlan, Winkler, Zohler. He was loved, respected and admired by friends and musicians in New York, Orlando, New Orleans, and worldwide. He was a bright light always uplifting and inspiring everyone around him .
