April 21, 1963 - December 20, 2011
On April 21, 1963 Patti Schram was born in Lodi Ohio to the parents of June Foth and Eric Schram. She was the first born followed by two other sisters Debbi Green of Kissimmee and Priscilla Brunjes of Orlando. She was a step sister to Dan Coppens of Orlando and Kristyn Rowell of Coral Springs. Patti loved her sisters and in many ways set the pace for them to follow. In her youth along with her adult years later in life she loved going to school. At the age of 40 she graduated from U.C.F. with a B.A. degree majoring in education.
Patti loved to be loved. She was a hugger and freely gave out hugs to others. She laughed easily and enjoyed life. Patti had a special place in her heart for children. She is the mother to two wonderful grown young men. Justin Woods of Kissimmee and Nicholas Woods of Sanford Florida. Patti's one and only daughter in law Viki was a joy to her. She took the place of the daughter she always wanted.
Patti is a grandmother to two beautiful little one's Colin and Emma Woods of Kissimmee. Patti is the wife of Astrubil Camacho her long time friend and fishing partner.
Patti's life was full and overflowing until one day in May of 2009 Patti was diagnosed with breast cancer. From that moment her life changed. She quit doing all the things she so much enjoyed, things like her gardening. She was a master gardener, and loved working with plants, but even the slightest of yard work wore her out, after all the chemo, radiation and medications began wearing her down. Patti loved the ocean, she was especially fond of Vero Beach where she would spend a week with Astrubil every year in November fishing their leisure time away.
When Patti transferred to Winter Park Towers Hospice Center on December 15 she told her Mom "I know my end is near, the worst thing about this dying business is I will not get to see my grand-babies grow up." If she was here today she would tell you she was not afraid to die. Patti was a brave woman.
If there is any song that best describes Patti Schram Woods Camacho, it would be Frank Sinatra's "I did it my way". From the age of 16 to 48 she did it her way! She loved, laughed, experienced life, educated, married, birthed and lived the way she best knew how.
Listen to the words and see if you can visualize our beloved Patti, a daughter, mother, sister, aunt, grandma and friend.
The words to the song read:
And now, the end is near;
And so I face the final curtain.
My friend, I'll say it clear, I'll state my case, of which I'm certain.
I've lived a life that's full. I've traveled each and every highway; But more, much more than this,
I did it my way.
Regrets, I've had a few; But then again, too few to mention. I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.
I planned each charted course; Each careful step along the byway,
But more, much more than this, I did it my way.
Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew When I bit off more than I could chew. But through it all, when there was doubt, I ate it up and spit it out. I faced it all and I stood tall; And did it my way. I've loved, I've laughed and cried. I've had my fill; my share of losing. And now, as tears subside,
I did it my way".
Patti would want you to remember her for all the wonderful times you had with her before she became ill. She would want you to remember how - together you loved, laughed and cried with her as you watched her go on with her life - doing it her way!
