October 6, 1930 – July 5, 2025
Patricia Ann Wright, 94, of Orlando, Florida, was called home to the Lord on July 5th, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Browndale, Pennsylvania, Patricia lived a life guided by unwavering faith, luminous spirit, and profound love. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone she encountered feel seen, valued and embraced. Her warmth, laughter, and deep compassion left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She was known for her keen sense of humor and her spontaneous, joyful approach to life. Whether through clever wit or a spur-of-the-moment adventure, Patricia embraced each day with curiosity and passion. A woman of tremendous grit, tenacity, and quiet resilience, Patricia met life’s challenges with courage and grace. Her unshakable strength of character and steady resolve served as a beacon for those around her, inspiring all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Ernest John Wright, and her son, Thomas Nelson Wright. She is lovingly survived by her sister, Margaret Hans; her son, Ernest J. Wright Jr. (Chen Yi-Ling); daughters Margaret W. Moorefield and Laura Lee Wright-Winterstine (Lynn); grandchildren Charles H. Moorefield IV, Ernest J. Wright III MD, Nicole E. Wright, Stephanie E. Constantino, Melissa L. Winterstine, Thomas N. Wright Jr, Jennifer Wright Torres, and Lindsey Wright Ford; and thirteen cherished great-grandchildren.
Patricia found her life’s purpose in raising her family and nurturing those around her. She gave generously to her community, sharing her love of music while volunteering at a nursing home, delivering Meals on Wheels and serving with her church’s altar guild.
Once her children were grown, Patricia joined her husband on international business travels, discovering the world with wonder and grace. Though she and her family lived in many places over the years, her heart always belonged to Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina—a peaceful haven she treasured deeply. Her daily walks along the shoreline and evening strolls around the sound were among her happiest moments. She also cultivated a love for tennis, dance, and fashion.
She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose laughter, love, and radiant soul touched countless lives. Though she may no longer walk beside us, her legacy of love and strength remains a guiding light.
We are forever grateful for the blessing of her presence and the enduring example she leaves behind.
An Irish Blessing
May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand
