

JACKSON, ROBERTA JEANNE, beloved wife and mother, passed away on June 23, 2012. Jeanne spent most of her early life in Orlando. She studied ballet, tap dancing, and acrobatics performing many times at the Orlando auditorium. During World War II, she flew with the Civil Air Patrol protecting the Florida coastline. She married George Jackson in 1944. They had a wonderful life together living in many foreign countries while George was in the Air Force. They returned to Orlando in 1963 after he retired. Then Jeanne was able to start her own career. She was head of medical records at Holiday Hospital and later at ORMC. Upon her retirement from this profession she began working for a prominent plastic surgeon as his office manager. Jeanne was always active even during her free time. She was an avid bridge player, played several musical instruments, and did beautiful hand work known as counted cross stitch. She was a wonderful wife, mother, family member, and friend to everyone who knew her. She leaves behind husband George; her daughter Sharon and husband Jerry; her son Alan; grand daughter Shannon and husband Marcus; great grand daughter Myya; her sister Linda; nieces and nephews Alice, George, Robert, and Caroline. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hospice of the Comforter will be greatly appreciated for the excellent care Jeanne received from Hospice caregivers. Hospice of the Comforter, 480 West Central Parkway, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714. Services: visitation will be held at Carey-Hand Funeral Home (2811 Curry Ford Rd.) from 6-8 PM Thursday June 28. A funeral service will be held at Carey_Hand Funeral Home 10 AM, Friday, June 29. Interment will follow at Glen Haven Cemetery, Winter Park, FL www.careyhandcolonialfh.com. She will be sorely missed by family and friends.
