Hi guy some old friends came by today, just to let you know they will miss the time you spent in their lives. Their hearts were sad that this was a time in life that could not be repeated, unless in their heart. These memories will carry us to the other side. I enjoyed Skip's many musical talents for a number of years as we worked together at Disney's Grand Floridian Hotel. Also admired his reliability, his love for a variety of music, his desire to play and his love for his family. He will definitely be missed but always remembered as we play a number of arrangements he wrote for the band. Our prayers go out to Jean and the family.

I remember Skip as a talented musician that I always enjoyed working with. He was always there for making the best of our Navy music when I was stationed with him in Orlando 74-77. I am sure that the Orlando musician comunity will miss you. Rest in Peace my friend. Sincerely, Jim Hayward

I had the honor and pleasure of working with Skip in the Grand Floridian Band. He was a dedicated professional.
I am grateful for all the good music, humorous stories, and many discussions about music we enjoyed over the years.
He will be missed but never forgotten by our musical family.

I have known Skip since the early 70s when he was in the Navy Band in Washington D.C. He was always a joy to play with and to talk to. I loved his dry sense of humor. We need more of his kind in the world. My wife and I are saddened by his passing. Unfortunately, we will be unable to attend the gathering on Saturday, the 20th, but we send our deepest condolences to Jean and family.

When Skip decided to step down from the 5 day Grand Floridian Band, he wrote a letter to management, stating his intentions. In that letter was a very nice recommendation that I take his place. I will be forever grateful for his kind words and generosity of spirit.  Blessings to the entire Harding family.

Skip was great musician and fun guy to work with. I worked with him at The Grand Floridian for five years. He was always checking out new music of all styles and bringing it into work. He opened up my ears to some wonderful music and I am thankful that we played together.

Skip played at our daughter's wedding 15 years ago... What a talented musician. He will be missed.

Jean and family.  I had the pleasure to have served with Skip at Navy Band Orlando, FL from 1974 - 1977.  We played in many dance bands and combos together.  I so enjoyed his playing and his wit.  He was an outstanding musician, mentor and friend.  I am glad to have known him.

I served with Skip in Japan (1959-61) and remember a quiet professional and superb musician and shipmate,  He was greatly respected and admired in the Navy Music community.  May he rest in peace.

Skip and I were stationed together in the Navy band in Yokosuka, Japan in the early 1960's. He had already become a wonderful musician by that time and he was a good shipmate and friend. My sympathy to his family. Rest in peace, old friend.

Thanks for your call, glad the flowers were nice....... the family and I send our deepest sympathy to you at your loss.  I will always remember Skip as someone with a great sense of humor and great musical talent.  I'll never forget him singing the "Beans in your ears" song together in the Fantastics.

From years ago, Skip was always a respected musician and a gentleman while helping younger musicians at the US Navy Band in Washington.  My deepest sympathies to his family.

My heart went out to you when Bette called me to tell me of Skip's passing. I want you to know that, you are in our hearts and prayers. I enjoyed so very much speaking with you on the phone the other night, Jean. Good to hear Cassie's voice also. I know Ryan and Cassie will miss their sweet Granddaddy. I especially,pray that Our Lord will Bless and comfort you Jean during this sad time. I love the photo gallery posted here. It was nice to see the personality of Skip in these wonderful pictures. Sincere condolences to the Harding Family.  I knew Skip while he was at the Navy Band in Washington.  I will always remember his humor, and limitless talent in the sax section of the Commodores.  He will be missed.  Bob and Barbara Palmer, The Villages Florida.

Since the early 1980's I have worked with Skip in many different musical groups. His terrific playing on reeds and keyboards were matched by his wonderfully dry sense of humor! We had many laughs, and will continue to do so whenever we remember Skip.
