Ted Lynn: loving brother, proud father, talented actor, beloved lady’s man, and everlasting comedian stepped out of the show on October 16, 2017. Ted was killed while running into a burning orphanage to save a crowd of lovable children…or maybe not…we all know how he liked to tell stories. But in all seriousness, he died peacefully of natural causes in his home in Kissimmee, FL.
Born in Williamsport, PA, and youngest of 6 children, Ted Lynn was on his way to making his mark in this world. Ted loved Pennsylvania, Penn State, and all his family, whom he recently had the chance to visit.
As a graduate of the 1979 class of Riverview High School, Sarasota, FL, Ted not only left with a diploma in hand, but a best friend and brother by his side, Graham Murphy. The two young lads headed off to Manatee Community College (MCC) and, later, Western Illinois University to major in theatre. It was on the stage of MCC where he met Colleen, the love of his life and mother to his children, as they performed Archy and Mehitabel.
Although a less than average life span, Ted did not live an average life. He loved his children to the fullest, laughed inappropriately at every chance he could find, made friends in every room he entered, and left everyone whose path he crossed wanting more.
Ted was a friend to many and gave unselfishly to ensure those he loved were provided for and well. This is best described by his sister, who brought him so much joy:
He was a person who always wanted to be there and help, cheer you up on a bad day, have a great conversation with you. We could talk about anything or nothing and have a good time.
--Terri Lynn Fast
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Mary (Berich) and Neil Lynn, his brother, Thomas Lynn, and an infant son, Thaddeus Lynn. He is survived by his sister, Terri Lynn Fast; three brothers, Tony, Neil and Mike Lynn; mother of his children, Colleen Ruane Lynn; and their children, Kyle Lynn and Katie Lynn.
Cremation will take place at Family Funeral Care and his ashes will be kept in an urn, passed from family member to family member until no one can remember what’s in the jar.
Everyone who remembers Ted is asked to celebrate his life in their own way; telling a ‘He wasn’t so bad’ or ‘What an ass’ story of their choosing at Family Funeral Care in Orlando, FL on November 4, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
