She was born in Des Moines, Iowa on March 24, 1925 to the late Leo & Estelene (Denniston) Anderson, and received many of her lessons in life from her grandparents, Bert and Mary Anderson.
Married in 1947, Wanda Lee and her beloved late husband, Joseph William Jones, Jr. were some of the original founding members of First Christian Church of Orlando. Bill and Wanda Lee worked tirelessly overseeing the mission ministries and giving to many charities, even traveling by plane to Andros Island for a mission trip. They were instrumental in contributing the to start of Florida Christian College in Kissimmee, currently known as Johnson University. Bill and Wanda Lee had two children, William Joseph Jones (decesased) and Cheryl Lee Jones (59).
During the week, Wanda Lee filled the young minds of Casselberry Elementary School as "Mrs. Jones" who modeled professional dress and behavior, loved history, and loved them dearly. Both Wanda Lee's students and family became very familiar with her commitment to excellence, her love for teaching, and her belief that discipline and dedication would provide valuable tools for her children's success in life.
In the summers, Wanda Lee's family enjoyed trips to New Smyrna Beach, and other vacations to the Smokey Mountains. She and Bill regularly attended North American Christian conventions all over the United States. Since her husband Bill was an ordained minister, Wanda Lee and her family frequently traveled all over Central Florida to preach in Sunday services for vacationing ministers.
In her later years, Wanda Lee took an Alaskan Cruise with her church friends, and went on to tour the Christian sites of the Middle East and Greek Isles. Later, Wanda Lee and her daughter, Cheryl, toured together in Germany and Hawaii.
In her spare time, Wanda Lee loved collecting antiques, and sewing, having made many clothes for her family over the years. Wanda Lee loved fashion and was always dressed beautifully.
Wanda Lee will always be remembered for her faithfulness. When her treasured son, Bill, became disabled due to an accident, she faithfully visited him in Conway Lakes every single day for more than a decade, and contributed to many details of his care until he passed.
Wanda Lee loved deliberately and fiercely, and passed on that legacy to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her dear husband, son, and parents.
Wanda Lee is survived by her daughter Cheryl Lee Jones and Greg Quagliata; grandchildren, Chris Randles, Alicia Quagliata, and Sheri Lynn (Jones) Wright of Kansas City, Missouri; as well as
3 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews (Grand/Great Grand as well); and, her loving Church Family.
