William "Bill" Gaydos, age 92 of Orlando, Florida passed away on September 15, 2020 at 8:55pm. He was born on September 20, 1927 in New Jersey to Michael and Rose Gaydos, immigrants who cam eto Ellis Island from Hungary before his birth, to make a better life for their family.
Definitely a people person, he had many lifelong close Military Veteran friends and friends from across the US. He served his country for more than 30 years, first in the Navy, then as a Chief Master Sargent in the Air Force as an engineer for more than 30 years combined. He loved the ocean and in his forties earned a degree in oceanography, he also bought a home on the Atlantic, he knew someday that he would have as a kid. He lived there for over 30 years and walked 10 miles on the beach every morning that he could. Bill loved travel and talking to people and learning their life stories. He knew when he was 16 that he wanted to see the whole world and he did travel round the world, not once but twice before his passing. At 6'2", Bill was a Great Solid Majestic Oak to his family with a heart the same size. There wasn't much he did not try, wood working, photography, electronics, engineering, fishing, boating, music, Great Classic Movies and reading, I mean every day reading. Books, poetry, newspapers, crossword puzzles and more. To say he was well rounded and wise is an understatement.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years Patricia Marie Gaydos, his daughter Carol Jean Walke, his brother Steven Gaydos, his sister-in-law Jeanne Gaydos, and by his parents Michael and Rose Gaydos. He is survived by his daughter Joyce Balderas and by his grandson Michael Ross.
According to his wishes, Bill will have a private ocean service closed to the public.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to please consider making a donation to "The Cure for Cancer" or "Parkinson's Disease Research" in his name.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Family Funeral Care, Orlando, Florida.
