Carol T. Mitchell, 84, of Dennisport, MA. passed away peacefully at home after fighting a courageous battle with Parkinson’s and dementia.
Born in Plattsburgh, NY to Lena (Cichella) and Earl Thompson, Carol was the first of their four children. Carol was an entrepreneur, real estate agent, Board of Assessors member, foster mother, historian, and caregiver while raising her four children. Besides being a teacher and mentor, Carol was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, colleague, and friend. Survivors include three daughters, Libby Mitchell, Holley Mitchell, and Cara Mitchell; son David Mitchell, Jr.; 2 sisters, Linda Nielsen and Deborah Thompson; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Carol is predeceased by her parents, her brother Harry Thompson, and her former husband David Mitchell, Sr.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, February 18 at 4 PM at St. Mary of Magdala Church at 310 Route 137, East Harwich, MA.
