Charles S. Dedon (Sandy) passed away Thursday July 20, 2017, at his home in Brewster, MA. He was the son of the late Charles and Lenore Dedon, who were longtime residents of Brewster.
Sandy was born November 8, 1947 in Teaneck New Jersey. He was a star pitcher for the local Babe Ruth league. He graduated from Bergen Catholic High school and then attended Villanova University. After college, he resided in King of Prussia, PA. where he wrote for Video Insider Magazine as a film reviewer. He continued to pursue his creative nature and entered the custom glass business, eventually becoming co-owner of Pottstown Glass Company in Pottstown, PA.
Sandy’s interests were far and wide. He was an accomplished guitarist and singer with a broad interest in music that he carried throughout his life and often included serenades for Lenore’s birthdays. Sandy enjoyed many pursuits including car models, origami and mastering James Beard recipes. He was a devoted NY Giants football fan, avid reader and follower of British dramas and mysteries on PBS. With many renaissance interests, he was knowledgeable on a broad range of subjects and enjoyed enlightened conversations with close friends.
He is survived by siblings Suzanne Penni of Marston Mills, MA, Janine Weaver of Great Falls, VA, and John Dedon of Mclean, VA. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Jennifer Penni Eldredge, Adam Penni, and Whitney, Patrick and Kara Dedon, and grand nephews and nieces Samantha, Caroline and Charlie Eldredge, Nora and Will Penni.
