

Born in Ridgewood, NJ on February 20, 1960. The youngest son of David Herman Luhmann and Catherine North Luhmann. He had attended Phillips Academy in Andover, MA and graduated from Nauset Regional High School in 1978. Chris spent the latter part of his childhood at his family's home in North Truro, MA and briefly moved back to New Jersey as a young man before finally settling in Brewster, MA. He worked various positions in the restaurant business for most of his life, one of the first being The Captain Linnell House in Orleans, MA, his family's restaurant. He spent 18 years working in the dining room at L'Alouette restaurant in Harwichport, MA.
Chris spent a large portion of his childhood traveling around Europe with his parents. His favorite place in the world was his second home in Donegal, Ireland, where he had many life-long friends. He had a passion for music, art, and food and was known throughout the restaurant business for his knowledge of wine. Before physical limitations set in, Chris loved to spend time biking, running, swimming, hiking, and playing tennis at the Norseman Athletic Club. For the past few years, Chris found a great deal of comfort and friendship through the Brewster Baptist Church. Chris was a gentle soul with a wonderful sense of humor and was an extremely caring, loving individual. He was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
Chris married Patricia White Luhmann in 1987 and was with her until her death in 2002. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Jon David Luhmann. He leaves behind his son, Dane Christopher Luhmann of Brewster, MA and his brother Robert North Luhmann of Great Barrington, MA.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA on Saturday, September 13th from 1p-5p.
