Claire was a graduate of Boston University, and worked for the Boston Gas Company before marriage. After raising her family, she worked as an executive secretary in the superintendent’s office of the Quincy Public Schools.
Claire was the beloved wife of the late Arthur P. Maher, and the mother to the late Robert H. Maher; she was the sister of the late Herbert Olsen of Marstons Mills.
Claire is survived by her two sons. Bradford W. Maher of Orleans, and Arthur P. Maher, Jr. (Phil), of Hawaii, as well as Brad's wife Mary, son Jamie and daughter Jenna, Phil's wife Diane, and daughter Alicia; and her niece Karen Olsen of Marstons Mills.
