Danny was born in Malone, NY to the late Marvin and June Dewyea Dumas. She grew up in the tiny village of Chasm Falls, NY, and always felt proud and lucky to have attended one of the last one-room schoolhouses there. After attending Franklin Academy in Malone, NY, for high school, she graduated from SUNY Morrisville with her Associates degree. In 1965, Danny married Donald Kellogg, Jr. and the late 60s saw the two of them finishing Don's undergraduate degree at the University of Georgia, committing their time and energy for our nation's benefit in the Vietnam war and starting a family. The 70s found Danny settled into family life in Katonah, NY, where she began her career in the publication industry at The Pennysaver in Yorktown, NY. While there, she returned to school at Mercy College to obtain her Bachelor’s degree, and soon after began working as the Production Coordinator at the Reader’s Digest. Through many years of hard work, she was able to retire early and a few years later, she moved to live by the sea in Brewster, MA, where she would spend the rest of her days overseeing the comings and goings of renters and residents on Captain Dunbar Road. Many dear friends were made in her little queendom by the sea!
Danielle was an avid reader and knitter, enjoyed gardening when she could, and loved spending as much time as she could catching up with and supporting her grandchildren.
Danny is survived by her children, Holly Kellogg of Southbury, CT; Heather Kellogg and her husband Rhys Herrmann of South Plainfield, NJ; and Donald Kellogg III and his wife Millie (née Brissolese) of New Fairfield, CT; her sister Gayle Bethel of Dover, DE and sister and brother-in-law Janis and Robert Kemmerer of Naples, FL; her grandchildren Evan Cyganowski, Maia Cyganowski, Porter Herrmann, Skylar Kellogg, Lila Kellogg, and Audley Herrmann; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her former husband Donald Kellogg, Jr.
