

BREWSTER – Doris M. Young, 102, of Brewster, passed away on Nov. 4, 2012. She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Lester Young. Doris was born in Malden, MA on July 21, 1910, the daughter of Roscoe and Lottie (Rollins) Lee.
When Doris was a young girl she moved with her family to North Eastham and graduated from Orleans High School. She also lived in Orleans where she and her husband owned and operated Young’s fish market in Rock Harbor. Doris also worked for the town of Orleans for 15 years as a clerk. She was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary No. 308. Doris loved spending time with family and friends. Among many talents and hobbies, she enjoyed baking, knitting and gardening, most of all sharing her gifts with those she loved. She was known for her smile and sense of humor.
She is survived by her youngest son David and his wife Suzan; daughter in law, Beverly; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Besides her husband Lester, she was predeceased by her oldest son, Theodore “Ted” Young and her brother Richard Lee, as well as her grandson Stephen Young.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Epoch of Brewster for their wonderful care and compassion with Doris.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the charity of one’s choice.
A memorial service will be held at 11am on Monday, November 12, 2012 at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA 02653. A committal service will following in the Orleans Cemetery.
