
natural causes July 28th, 2012, at the Epoch Nursing Home in Brewster, MA,
at age 89. Betty was raised in Western Pennsylvania and was a graduate of Penn.
State University and received her Master's Degree in Library Sciences
from Villanova University. She was a former resident of Clinton, New
York; Tacoma, Washington; Warwick, Massachusetts; and South Yarmouth,
Massachusetts.
She served as a librarian for over 40 years, first as volunteer at the Clinton Public Library and then at the Hamilton College library. She
worked for many years as the reference librarian at the Tacoma Public
Library and subsequently as a library volunteer at the Warwick Town
Library. In her later years, she managed the Thirwood Place library
where she was a resident for eight years in their assisted living
area.
She is predeceased by her husband Burt Wallace and her son Jeffrey
Wallace, and is survived by her sons Christopher Michael Wallace of
Brewster, Massachusetts and Paul Scott Wallace of Warwick,
Massachusetts and by grand-children Paul Joseph Wallace and Jocelyn
Cecelia Wallace of Brewster, Massachusetts, and Matthew Londahl
Wallace of Vancouver, B.C.
Funeral services will be private.
