ORLEANS – Born at home in 1920, she passed away at the age of 95 on July 5th at home surrounded by her family. She grew up and spent her entire life in Orleans. She worked at Reno Diner, Nickerson State Park, and drove a laundry truck back and forth to P-town for Acme Laundry. She held these jobs as a single mother to pay for her home and to raise her son.
For fun she would shuck Bay scallops for her father Cal Baker during the season. She loved to be outside in nature, she spent most of her days in her flower gardens, collecting antiques, loved listening to and watching the many birds that visited her feeders and spending time with her family and her long time and loving dog DeeDee. She was a very loving and caring woman who would do anything to help anyone.
Florence is survived by her son Brian W. Coulson Sr. of Orleans, MA; three granddaughters, April Coulson Bentley and her husband Robert of Eastham, MA, Bonnie Coulson of Plymouth, MA and Crystal Coulson of Orleans, MA; 4 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husbands, Wally Coulson, who drowned Sea Scalloping in Cape Cod Bay and Norman Young of Wellfleet, MA, as well as her grandson, Brian W. Coulson Jr.
She was the Best Mom and Grandmother.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to: Animal Rescue League of Boston, 3981 Main Street (Route 6A), East Brewster, MA 02631.
