

Francis Hoban, husband, father, and proud United States Army veteran, passed away peacefully at home, leaving behind a legacy of service, strength, and unwavering love for his family. He was predeceased by his father, John Hoban, and his mother, Helen Hoban.
Francis served his country honorably in the United States Army for 26 years, attaining the rank of Chief Warrant Officer and flying helicopters throughout his distinguished career. His service was marked by courage, integrity, and a deep commitment to protecting others.
Outside of his military service, Francis lived life with passion and curiosity. He loved boating and fishing, was a self-taught snowboarder, and had a lifelong appreciation for classic muscle cars. He took great pride in rebuilding engines and restoring cars, always driven by a desire to make things faster, better, and cooler—never hesitating to modify anything that could be improved.
Above all else, Francis was a family man. He was the husband of Lisa Hoban and a devoted father to Jacob and Abbie, whom he cherished beyond measure. His family was his greatest joy, and he dedicated his life to providing for, protecting, and supporting those he loved.
Francis is also survived by his two brothers, Shawn and Daniel, and his two sisters Aileen and Kathleen, who will forever remember his strength, loyalty, and generous spirit.
Francis will be remembered for his strong presence, his generous heart, and the unwavering love he gave to those around him. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the family he raised, and the service he proudly gave to his country. He will be deeply missed and forever honored.
Francis’s memorial visitation will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026 at the Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, Ma from 9am to 11am followed by his funeral service at 11am in the funeral home. His burial will follow in the Orleans Cemetery, Orleans, Ma.
